Mark Schneider

Inspiring Since 1985

Yale Economic Review

In his high school economics class, Mark was introduced to Robert Heilbroner's classic, The Worldly Philosophers. In this book, Heilbroner chronicles the lives, times, and ideas of the great historic economic thinkers.

Inspired by Heilbroner's book and the power of economic ideas, Mark set out to profile contemporary contributors to economic thought. As an academic editor and, later, senior editor of the Yale Economic Review, Mark ran a series where he interviewed Nobel Laureates about their experiences, their research, and their passion for economics. For this series, entitled Great Minds in Economics, Mark wrote about his interviews with Paul Samuelson, Robert Solow, Daniel Kahneman, John Nash and the late Milton Friedman.
